Cultus Lake – Chilliwack

Cultus Lake – Chilliwack, 14km

Going out of Cultus Lake we rode along Chilliwack River Road into Chilliwack. Easy downhill and for most of the time the road had a good shoulder. Some parts of it were too narrow, but that didn’t last too long.

Abbotsford – Cultus Lake

Abbotsford – Cultus Lake, 32 km

A ride that we decided to do along the TransCanada Highway 1, South Parallel Road for the most part, due to the fact that we wanted to take the shortest route to arrive early and set up for camping that evening. Near Cultus Lake there was a steep hill that we avoided by riding through a local reserve, thanks to the residents that opened the gates for us.

Fort Langley – Abbotsford

Fort Langley – Abbotsford, 38km

A day marked by two short but very steep hills where we had to push our bikes up. Otherwise, we rode mostly on very quiet and scenic roads, except for a section of about 2km where the Trans-Canada Great Trail took us (again) on a loose gravel path that was quite difficult and slow to ride with our road bikes.
