It’s all about the preparations, right?
While we spent the last 4-5 months getting ready for our bicycle trip across Canada (reading, planning the road, gathering gear, etc.), I’m under the impression that nothing will fully prepare us for what’s ahead. So today we packed our panniers and, at our kids’ request, we did a short ride near home, with our bikes fully loaded for the first time. It was a nice summer evening, on quiet roads and bike paths – ideal conditions. I wish that every day of our trip would be like this one. Yet, I’m well aware that often times it won’t be that easy. All this to say, this project feels more real than ever. An exciting adventure begins!
